About Me – A Lifelong Journey with Scale Models

My name is James, and I’ve been a scale model enthusiast for most of my life—though the path hasn’t always been a straight one. I first discovered the magic of model building when I was just 10 years old. Like many kids, I was fascinated by Muscle cars, lowriders, and trucks, and I found endless joy in creating small, detailed replicas of the machines that inspired me.

Over the years, the hobby came and went as life moved forward. I built up till my late teenage years, but eventually, as often happens, career demands and responsibilities pulled me away. My longest break from the bench lasted from age 24 to about 40. During that time, the hobby was never far from my mind—it just remained on the back burner.

Everything changed in 2022 when my son asked me to build a model of the Saturn V rocket for him. That single moment re-ignited my passion. Seeing his face light up when I showed him the final product, I remembered why I fell in love with the hobby in the first place. Since then, I haven't stopped building.

Today, scale modeling is not just a pastime—it’s a part of who I am. I enjoy the blend of history, creativity, and patience it requires. Whether I’m weathering a JGTC Race Car or detailing a WWII era P-51 Mustang, I find peace and pride in every build. Sharing the hobby with my son is the only goal left besides staying involved in the builders community.

I now actively share my projects, techniques, and progress with the community, hoping to inspire others—just as I was inspired all those years ago. I have provided two links to my favorite communities where i share all of my work. You can find a link tab up top. I hope to see you there!

Once a modeler, always a modeler.
